Join the Fight Against Meth
Message from the Attorney General
Methamphetamine, or “meth”, is now the #1 drug problem in the United States, according to recent national surveys of county officials and local law enforcement.
Methamphetamine is not the most frequently used illegal drug, but meth is particularly damaging to the mind, body and spirit of the user. It is especially harmful to the user's family. And if the user makes meth in a homemade meth lab, the family and the surrounding community are threatened by exposure to harmful chemicals, explosion and fire.
Those dangers also put at risk law officers, firefighters and other first responders, social workers, and anyone else who comes into contact with a meth lab. The extreme paranoia of meth addicts, which makes them prone to aggressive and violent behavior, is yet another danger.
There are so many harmful aspects of meth that it is hard to know where to begin. But a good starting place is this video, which provides an overview of the meth problem. Please view it, and then explore this site to learn more about meth.
Thank you for joining the fight against meth, a drug that brings so much tragedy to those who are touched by it. Working together, we can bring meth criminals to justice, help addicts get the treatment they need, and prevent people from experiencing the pain caused by methamphetamine addiction.
