Drug-Endangered Children
A child who has been exposed to a meth lab or a hazardous lifestyle that results from illegal drug manufacturing, use, or sales is considered to be a drug-endangered child. North Carolina law enforcement officials, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the state Division of Social Services have partnered to develop a comprehensive strategy for safely removing and decontaminating children found in meth labs. In addition, the National Alliance for Drug-Endangered Children also has a similar protocol and other related information available on its website.
