Protecting Children
Attorney General Roy Cooper supports tough laws to deter criminals and strong law enforcement to punish those who harm our children.
To help parents protect their children from the threat of Internet predators and other online dangers, Attorney General Cooper’s
office has created an Internet
safety program. And as Attorney General, Cooper
pushed to create a special computer forensics unit in the State
Bureau of Investigation to give law enforcement hi-tech expertise needed to track criminals who use the Internet to prey on children.
To protect children in homes where abuse occurs, Cooper fought for the law that makes it a crime to commit domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Cooper is also committed to protecting our kids through preparation and prevention. He is working to make our schools as safe as possible through projects like the Critical
Incident Response Kit.
