Programs

The North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission established the Program Evaluation Committee to recognize academic institutions that provide a criminal justice educational curriculum that meets Commission standards. The Program Evaluation Committee is responsible for assisting academic institutions with the certification process, applying the institution's data to the certification standards, and making a recommendation concerning the institution's certification.

The Program Evaluation Committee is a permanent subcommittee of the Education and Training Committee, which is a standing committee of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. It includes five members: two appointed by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Association; two appointed by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission; and the North Carolina Criminal Justice Association representative to the Commission.

7. The PEC conducts a site visit to the institution to evaluate the information contained in the institution's self-study.
8. The PEC renders a decision regarding their recommendation for certification and forwards this recommendation to the Education and Training Committee.
