Scams that Target Seniors

North Carolinians of all ages fall victim to frauds and scams, but there are many scam artists who specifically prey on senior citizens. In particular, seniors are often the target of telemarketing scams, home repair fraud rings, and identity theft. Unfortunately, seniors are attractive targets because they often have good credit, investments, equity in their homes and a lifetime of savings. Many con artists are also skilled at exploiting age-related conditions, such as memory loss and depression.
